RE: New HTT has holes in bunk end (Jayco 17c Ex-Port)

Yes, but did they find the cause of the holes? New canvas won't do any better if there is something abrasive in the way. i'll find out more details when i pick it up in a few hours. the service girls said perhaps it was shipped like this.

RE: New HTT has holes in bunk end (Jayco 17c Ex-Port)

UPDATE - the JAYCO dealer called and they have ordered new canvas for me. it's going to take 6 weeks to get it in but that is fine with me, I'll pick it up and continue camping and bring it back in the fall for them to work on. Maybe even leave it there for the winter and get myself some free storage :) I also had some minor issues with water tap leaking and antenna crank not working properly and they fixed those for me. I'm happy I bought a Jayco and from a local dealer.

RE: what is the best 17' or 19' hybrid out there??

As for the trailer itself, many campers smaller than 19' have a wet bathroom meaning the toilet is in there and everything gets wet when you shower (by design). Those 19' and larger typically have a separate shower inside a tiny, but otherwise real, bathroom. -- Chuck NOPE not true on the Jayco 17C EX-PORT, separate shower/tub from the toilet and vanity http://www.jayco.com/g/db/gallery_picture_1860.jpg

RE: what is the best 17' or 19' hybrid out there??

first off you are about to get a dozen or so replies from people saying that minivans can't tow hybrids. just a warning personally i have a jayco 17c ex-port and tow it up a pontiac montana, tranny cooler, weight distribution bars, anti-sway bar, tanks empty and keep my trips to only 1-4 hours. I've recently returned from a 13 night trip where i towed mainly across flat prairies but did have some rolling hills in the canadian shield area. all went fine. even had a cross wind one day and yeha i was only going 95 kmh (around 55mph) all was good. i really like our jayco, it's got aheavy tongue weight but great for us and although some don't like the u-shaped dinnete, it gives us lots of room.

Possible sparks from the campfire? when i saw the first one that is what i thought..oh sh*t...but upon further inspection, nope. and the one side has never been anywhere near.

New HTT has holes in bunk end (Jayco 17c Ex-Port)

So we did a 2 nighter back in June and all seemed OK with our new HTT. We just returned from a 13 nighter and as we spent more time in HTT, we discoverd 5 holes in the bunk ends. 3 on one side and 2 on the other. All are a littler larger than a pen, perhaps as big as a wooden match. I had a Starcraft pop-up for 5 years and never experienced anything like this. All the holes are near the posts, either the middle one that you remove or the back one that flops down. I'm bringing it to the dealer tomorrow...I wonder what they are going to do. Anyone ever see this before? I'm real carefull in closing it and have no idea what would cause such holes.

RE: How do I look? Pontiac Montana towing Jayco 1701 Ex-Port

I wish I could figure out why I can only see little red x's where the pictures should be. Have a T-1 connection here at the office, so I know connection speed isn't the problem... Your office probably has "photobucket.com" blocked. i run into the same issue when at work as our place blocks some sites.

How do I look? Pontiac Montana towing Jayco 1701 Ex-Port

Please no comments from the weight police please, I've heard enough about my setup. I tow 1-3 hours only, all flat, no hills. Anyway, I'm fully loaded, everything except me in the drivers seat. My dog and 2 kids are in back and actually my wife is in back strapping in one of the kids. So my question, do I look level and OK? Do I need to hook up my equalizer to another chain link? Any comments or suggestions are appreciated! http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture080.jpg height=500 width=500 http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture081.jpg height=500 width=500

RE: post pictures of your HTT

2007 Jayco 1701 Ex-Port with 2004 Montana van. Do I look level? It's fully loaded, just missing me in front. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture080.jpg height=600 width=600 http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture081.jpg height=600 width=600 First trip out, close to city, Bird's Hill Park, Manitoba, Canada. Normally we don't camp in open areas like this but it was first trip and I booked late. http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture082.jpg height=600 width=600 http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture083.jpg height=600 width=600 Another trip, but to the beach this time, Lake Winnipeg, Gimli, Manitoba http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture004.jpg height=600 width=600 http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q438/wags_in_the_peg/Picture002.jpg height=600 width=600

RE: To cover or not to cover....

yeah i need to do something as well. I park under some trees and my roof is black after only 2 months. I'm thinking of a portable garage, just need to get the right height one.

RE: Towing w/ SUV

I have a WDH but not sway control. For piece of mind, I'm gonna go buy one this weekend before my 14 night camping trip. Question...Is this something I can install myself or does it involve welding?

Sway when braking?

Coming home this past weekend, my wife was following me in her car. (she had to work and came to visit the kids and me). Anyway, she said when I was braking coming through the city, our hybrid travel trailer was swaying. Is this normal? I wasn't doing any hard braking. What is causing this? I have a weight distribution hitch, but not an anti-swar bar. Do I need to add one. Are my electric brakes set to tight, should I loosen them up? please advise

RE: Towing ability

my Pontiac Montana tows my Jayco 1701 Ex-Port so far (2 small trips) without any real issues. I have an weight distribution hitch, tranny cooler and will probably add an anti-sway this weekend. my trips are short (less than 240 miles) across mostly flat land.

RE: Holding Tank Primer for Dummies

this was one of my biggest worries when we moved from a popup to a htt. and after 2 weekends, no issues at all. we are 2 adults, 1 child using it and I was planning on putting restrictions. this past weekend we did 4 days where we had a 4 adult visitors and they all used it and by the end of day 4 i was 3/4 full. i was so happy that no restrictions are required. so far i'm using the the free chemical samples that came with the htt, but I'll have to purchase something soon.

RE: Jayco 17c - can't LIGHT HOT WATER TANK

thanks for the advice. I'll put some duct tape over the kids and dogs mouth tonight and try and listen in the "on" position.
